This is an excellent example of a 1939 S/42 Code P.08 Luger pistol that was manufactured by the Mauser factory. These were the standard WWII Lugers used by all German forces and are a main collector Luger in any military collection. The chamber is dated 1939 and the front toggle has the wartime code of "S/42" for the Mauser factory. The right side barrel extension is stamped double "Eagle/63" Waffenamt proof along with the single eagle firing proof. It is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number (3962) on the major components, with the last two digits (62) stamped on the various small parts. It is complete with two WWII, blued Nazi magazines that are marked: "8724/c/+ and 6333/o/Eagle 63" respectively. This rig is complete with an original brown leather holster that is marked on the back: "R. EHRHARDT/POESSNECK/WaA29/1939" along with a Nazi "Eagle/63" proofed P.08 Luger take down tool.
