Introduced by Winchester in 1931, this particular shotgun was manufactured between 1931 and 1959 and was a pre war special order with a beavertail forearm and single selective trigger. Features a red bead front and ivory mid bead sight on a concave matte rib barrel with 2-3/4 inch chambers and choked full/ improved cylinder with ejectors. The left rear barrel is gold inlaid "JAMES H. MEYERS" flanked with a decorative silver inlay scroll type design. The right side of the jeweled water table is marked with the Winchester oval proof and U.S.A. patent numbers and the left side "MADE IN U.S.A. MODEL 21 / WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN.". The jeweled barrel flats are marked with the Winchester oval proofmark, marked "FULL" and "IMP CYL.", and the barrels and forearm are numbered to the gun. The trigger guard plate has a gold inlaid grouse. (No factory letter is available to writer at time of description to verify, but appears to be of factory quality!) Single selective trigger with push button selector, tang mounted manual safety, with gold "SAFE" and mounted with fancy grain checkered beavertail forearm and straight grip stock with a leather covered recoil pad and gold initial shield. Length of pull is 14 3/8".

Condition: Refinished. The barrels retain 99% custom blue finish. The receiver retains 90% original blue finish with some areas of smooth gray patina and some high edge wear. The trigger guard plate retains 20% original blue finish with a smooth gray and brown patina on the balance. The trigger guard tang shows some smooth gray patina mixed with original blue finish and there is some smooth gray patina on the rear of the upper tang. The wood is excellent with a few minor dents and nicks, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
