This is a first variation "ac/42" code pistol with the "eagle/359" Waffenamt stamps. The left side of the slide is marked " P 38", "ac / 42" and the serial number. The left side of the frame is marked with the matching serial number followed by an "eagle/359" proofmark. The front of the barrel lug is marked with the matching serial number and the right side of the slide is marked with a Nazi firing proof flanked by "eagle/359" proofs. The locking block is marked "511/a" and has the correct firing and eagle proofmarks on the sides. Almost all the parts are marked with the "eagle/359" proof mark. The blue magazine is marked "P.38" on the lower left side, two "eagle/359" proofs on the spine and the matching serial number on the bottom. Standard fixed sights and fitted with rust colored serrated bakelite grips with a lanyard loop on the left heel. Complete with a black leather flap holster marked "bdr 42", "eagle/ WaA66" and "P38" on the back.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% original blue finish with some minor muzzle and front edge slide wear, some minor wear on the right side of the slide and some thinning on the front strap. The grips are excellent showing very little wear and a few light handling marks. The markings are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very fine with some minor wear and tight stitching. An excellent AC42 P38 Rig!
