This is an nice example of a 1942 production P.08 Mauser Luger rig. The top of the chamber area is dated 42 and front toggle is marked "byf", the wartime code for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "eagle/135" acceptance proofs next to the single eagle firing proof, with the later repeated on the barrel and breechblock. The upper safety area and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" respectively and it has the late "P.08" markings on the left side of frame. It is fitted with the late style black plastic checkered grips and it comes complete with two type 4, "fxo/PO8" magazines with the black plastic base with the reinforcing pin through the center. It is complete with a brown calf skin holster, and take down tool. The back of the holster is marked "DLU/1942/PO8".

Condition: Excellent, with 97% plus of the original blue finish with holster wear present on the edges and high spots overall. The black plastic grips are also in excellent condition overall. The holster is in very fine condition with a slight age crazing of the leather surface overall with clear markings and proofs with tight stitching. Mechanically excellent.
