This is an early/mid 1942 production Mauser Military production Luger that has the late war "byf" toggle markings, with the all salt blued finish but still retains the checkered walnut grip panels. The top of the chamber area is dated '42' and as noted the front toggle is marked with 'byf' Mauser wartime code. The right side of the barrel extension has a double 'eagle/135' Waffenamt proofs, next to the single eagle firing proof, which is also present on the right side of the barrel and left side of the breechblock. The safety and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively and the left side, rear of the frame is stamped 'P.08'. Visible numbers match. Complete with one late war type three all blued magazine with the "fxo/eagle 37/P08" proof marks on the side of the magazine body with the unmarked black plastic base plug with the steel reinforcing pin through the center of the base.
