Excellent WWII German G Date Mauser Luger
This is an exceptional example of a early WWII German luger pistol as produced by the Mauser factory in 1935. This specific pistol is typical of those produced in the 1926-1935 timeframe, in that they used a letter code on top of the chamber area to designate the year of manufacture in lieu of an actual number. These letter codes were intended to disguise the rearmament effort that was on-going in the early 1930s. For this pistol, the "G" date signifies 1935 for the actual year of manufacture. The top of the toggle has the "S/42" markings designating the Mauser factory with the "G" over the chamber area. The right side of the barrel extension and right side of the barrel has the early drooped-wing Mauser Eagle over 63 Waffenamt proof. The underside of the barrel is marked with the correct serial number and bore diameter. It has the correct checkered walnut grips with the rust blued metal finish and straw colored small parts, trigger takedown lever, safety, magazine release button, and ejector. It is complete with one late war magazine that has the all blued magazine body with the aluminum base numbered "N 3347/ 1663".
