This is a excellent example of an all original, unaltered, late WWII 1941 dated Mauser Luger rig. These late WWII Lugers with the walnut grips and two matching magazines are highly desirable and much sought after by collectors. This specific Luger is termed a "41-42" variation which is fairly scarce in that it was produced in early 1941 when Mauser was changing from the four-digit chamber dates to the two-digits dates but still retained the secret wartime "42" code for the Mauser factory, before it switched to the "byf" markings. During this period there was an over-lapping of marking changes and it is estimated that approximately 7000 were produced in the "n-r" serial number ranges. This model has the standard inverted "v'' front sight with the fixed rear sight. The chamber is correctly marked "41" for the production date and the toggle marked "42" for Mauser. The safety and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively, with the left side of the frame correctly marked with the late war designation of "P.08". The underside of the barrel is marked with the bore diameter along with the "eagle/655" Waffenamt proof on the right side of the receiver. It has the military style markings of the full serial number on the front of the frame (with n suffix), left barrel extension, barrel with the partial serial number "02" on all the parts. This Luger has two matching type three, aluminum base, Army magazines that have the milled blued magazine body with the aluminum base with the reinforcing pin through the center of each magazine. The bottom of each base is stamped "5082/n and 5082/n/ +" respectively, along with "eagle/37", "122" and "eagle/37" on the left sides. This exceptional Luger rig is complete with an original late war black leather holster that is marked on the back side, with a super deep and sharp "bcd/41/Eagle/WaA170/P08" (Otto Graf-Heersausruestungen Leipzig) markings.

As noted this Luger has all matching to include the two aluminum base magazines. This would also be an excellent addition to any advanced Luger collection that would be difficult to improve upon.
