This is an excellent example of a late WWI imperial German luger that was manufactured in 1917. This pistol has a rust blued finish with the straw colored small parts with checkered walnut grips. The top of the chamber area is dated 1917 and the front toggle is marked "DWM", for Deutsch Waffen Und Munitions factory. The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/script" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The safety and extractor are correctly marked "Gesichert" and "Geladen" and it has the fixed front and notch rear sight with the stock lug on the back strap. The magazine is a correct nickel plate WWI version with a wood bottom base plate numbered "7511d+".
