This is an excellent example of a late WWI imperial German Luger that was manufactured in 1918. This pistol has the correct factory rust blued finish with straw colored small parts and checkered walnut grips. The top of the chamber area is dated 1918 and the front toggle is marked "DWM", for Deutsch Waffen Und Munitions factory. The right side of the barrel extension has three Crown/Script proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof, which is also stamped on the top rear section of the barrel. The safety and extractor are correctly marked Gesichert and Geladen and it has the fixed front and notch rear sight with the stock lug on the back strap. The magazine is a correct nickel plate WWI version with a wood bottom base plate numbered "4964b/Imperial Proof".
