This is a late production Mauser P.08 Luger pistol as manufactured in 1937. As noted this is a later model production version that has the all blued finish with the checkered walnut grips. The top of the chamber is dated "1937" and the front toggle has the wartime code of "S/42" for the Mauser factory at Oberndorf. The right side of the barrel extension has the early double droop wing "eagle/63 Waffenamt" proof next to the single eagle firing proof. Visible numbers match. It has the standard "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" extractor and safety markings and is complete with one all blued unmarked magazine that is marked on the aluminum base, "2620v/eagle 63" Waffenamt proof.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 3708v
Condition: Excellent overall with 95% of the original blue finish remaining, with wear and blue loss on the edges and high spots, and some very minor thinning on the grip straps, themselves. The grips are in excellent condition overall with nice checkering on both sides with minor wear across the top of the checkering, and a couple of minor pressure dents with some freshening on the right side grip panel. The pistol has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted above. A nice example of a 1937 S/42 Luger pistol.
