Excellent Factory Engraved Wartime Walther Mod. PP Semi-Automatic Pistol
Walther Mod. PP pistol finished 'in the white' with factory oak leaf and acorn style engraving. The pistol has a cartridge pin indicator, 60-degree safety lever, side magazine release and two-piece, black, plastic checkered grips with the Walther Banner at the top. The magazine is blued and has a black plastic finger extension. The left side of the slide has the Walther Banner followed by the factory legend and caliber in a raised panel followed by the designation, "Mod. PP" in a raised panel. The serial number, "215333 P" is pantagraphed vertically on the right side of the frame behind the trigger guard. The right side of the slide has a blank panel below the ejection port for the proof mark. There are no proof marks in the usual locations on the barrel chamber, muzzle and slide. The lack of proof marks may indicate that the pistol was taken from the Walther factory in Zella-Mehlis before it was completed when American troops captured the factory in April 1945.
