This unique revolver was manufactured from 1861 to 1865. These revolvers have a 7 inch octagon barrel and heart-shaped trigger guard. The barrel, loading lever, cylinder, and frame are blue. The guard, hammer, and triggers are casehardened. The grips are two piece oil-finished walnut with the left panel numbered to the gun. The frame top strap is marked "SAVAGE R.F.A. Co, MIDDLETOWN. CT./ H.S.NORTH PATENTED JUNE 17 1856/JANUARY 18 1859. MAY 15 1860". The unique action functions with a lever and a trigger. The lever has a loop for the middle finger.
