Excellent Antique Smith & Wesson First Model Single Shot Target Pistol
Manufactured between 1893 and 1905 with a total production of only 1,251. Raised bead front sight and windage adjustable notch rear, with the two line, two block address/patent dates on the rib, broken up by "MODEL OF 91" in the center and one line caliber marking on the left side. Casehardened hammer and trigger guard, with recoil shield, matching numbers on the barrel and latch, smooth trigger and checkered extended grips with Smith & Wesson logos, "PAT'D AUG.30.02" inscription and a backstrap spur.
