European made .36 caliber percussion Navy sized revolver marked Colt brevet on barrel nicely engraved with ornate carved wood grip, serial number 13406 with large 18 over serial number possibly denoting series. Thecylinder shows Elg (Belgian) and crown over U proofs. The barrel shows 80% to 90% original bright blue with some scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting mostly at the edges. The frame shows 80% to 90% casehardening drifting to the silvery gray with some faint evidence of rainbow colors. There are 3 small tap holes drilled on left side of the frame which may have been for a belt hook. The action is crisp and the safety pins are retained. The interior is bright and shiny near excellent. A well ornamented and crisp 19th-century revolver. Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
