A large Etruscan/Villanovan two-handled Impasto vessel, Italic, c. 8th Century BC, with body with vertical lobes tapering to a narrow flat base, the neck with wide rounded ridge and the mouth flared widely. On opposing sides are two large looping handles, each with raised flanges on the edges and join from the shoulder to the rim. A very large and quite elegant piece! H: 6 1/8 in (15.5cm). A nice example with some old repair to bottom and earthen encrustation on the burnished surfaces. Ex South German private collection of an artist and art collector, purchased between 1960 to 1980.
