Escape From L.A. Eyeballs and Lids Props
In John Carpenter's apocalyptic hit sequel "Escape From L.A." (1996), Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell) is back as the one-eyed existential iconoclastic hero. At one point he and the deep-voiced street smart Taslima (Valeria Golino), are tied to a gurney in the Surgeon General of Beverly Hills' (Bruce Campbell) lab, about to be dissected for their "fresh" body parts to sell to rich Beverly Hills patrons. Noticing that Russell is wearing his iconic eye-patch, a nurse brings over a tray of eyes, as one would hors d'oeuvres at a wedding reception. These are three of these exquisitely made eyes, with lid and surrounding flesh. The realistic eyes are made of glass and hand painted, and the flesh and lids of special latex. They were crafted, as were all the body parts, by Andrea Le Vine, Special Effects Wizard. They come from her personal collection, and include her Letter of Provenience. (Eyeballs and latex lids together are approx 3"x2").
