Erfurt Model 1914 Dated Artillery Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Shoulder Stock Rig

Estimate: $1800 - 2750
Desirable early WWI Crown Erfurt Artillery Luger, with the "1914" dated chamber area and "Crown/ERFURT" markings on the toggle. The barrel extension has the Imperial Army "Crown/Gothic" letter proofs and Imperial Eagle firing proof. The imperial eagle firing proof is also repeated on the right rear of the barrel, with the Erfurt "Crown/RC" proof on the rear toggle with most parts marked with a single "Crown/Gothic" letter proof mark. The left receiver rail is marked "GERMANY" (stamped for the commercial export trade to an English speaking country in the 1920s) with the correct Artillery tangent rear sight graduated to 800 meters with standard front sight. Complete with a refurbished leather holster/shoulder stock rig, with shoulder strap. The attaching iron serial number does not match the pistol. There is a takedown tool and cleaning rod with the holster.
BBL: 7 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 9401
Condition: Very fine as period refurbished overall. The pistol retains 80% of the arsenal blue finish with edge and high spot wear, mixed with some light thinning on frame rails, side plate and grip straps. The various small parts show 40% straw colors in the protected areas with a smooth silver gray patina on the balance. The grips are fine with some moderate wear and minor handling marks with sharp checkering. The markings are clear. All the visible exterior numbers match, except the un-numbered magazine. The reproduction holster is very good with some minor cracking and a small amount of tape residue on the front. The shoulder strap is very good. The revarnished stock is also very good with some minor pressure dents and scratches.
