Produced in Prussia in 1918, and later reworked for used by the post-War Weimar Republic. Fixed sights, with "1920/1918" stamped on the chamber and "Crown/ERFURT" on the toggle. Right side of the extension has the three "Crown/Gothic Letter" proofs next to the Imperial firing proof, which is repeated on the barrel and breechblock, and the "Crown/RC" rework proof on the right side of the extension and left rear of the barrel over a single crown over Gothic letter proof. The "Crown/RC" and a single crown over Gothic letter proof are marked on most of the parts. The left side of the barrel extension is marked with an encircled "S" ahead of the serial number. According to the Standard Catalog of Luger, by Davis, the meaning of this marking is unknown. The matching serial number is marked on the barrel extension, front of the frame and bottom of the barrel with the partial number "33" on most small parts, including the inside of each grip panel. The front strap is marked "8507". Blue finish with straw colored small parts, unmarked plated magazine with a wooden bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips.
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 8833n
Condition: Arsenal refinished with 80% dull blue finish remaining, showing muzzle and high edge wear and overall thinning with some areas fading to a smooth plum patina. About half of the straw colors remain with the balance having a smooth silver gray patina. The grips are about good with moderate high point wear, some crudely recut checkering and for the most part crisp checkering. Most markings are highlighted in white and remain clear. The action is fine.
