Eprouvette or powder tester with ivory scrimshawed handle, silver over brass body, measures approx. 5-1/2”, metal portion 2-3/4”. The ivory grip shows “1807” with floral decorations. The right side shows“Furieuse” with similar floral. The wheel is hand-engraved and the tension spring is inserted into the bottom beneath the muzzle. An ingenious patent by a well schooled gunmaker. The grip shows some age cracks andyellowing. A very interesting and high-quality powder testing with a pleasing line of higher quality than normally found. 75-85% finish.
