Ensemble consisting of 1876 Winchester rifle, .45-75 caliber, 30” octagon barrel, full magazine, factory silver trim, left sideplate period script inscribed (non-factory) “Granville Stuart / from the / Montana StockGrowers Assoc. / Christmas / ~ 1883 ~”. Along with a Merwyn & Hulbert style revolver, serial #1548, also script inscribed “Presented to Granville Stuart by Conrad Kohrs”. Also, a two-volume set, 40 Years onthe Western Frontier” by Granville Stuart, published 1925, in very good condition. The Winchester is confirmed by factory letter as rifle, barrel length: 30”, plain trigger, silver trim, received in warehouse December7th, 1883, shipped December 8th, 1883, to order #9411. The rifle shows a deep brown patina finish with traces of silver in protected areas on frame, forend cap, and butt plate. Some scattered erosion andpinprick pitting. Barrel address is fully legible. Some screws replaced. Missing screw and dust cover. Stocks lightly refinished. Fair to good condition overall. Front and rear sights are old period replacements with
