Single bead sight 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked full/improved modified, ejectors. The casehardened action is scroll engraved with an Irish Setter on point on the right side lock plate with a German Shorthair Pointer on the left side, with the front ends of the lock plates marked "LEFEVER / ARMS CO.". Marked side plates and a mallard on the trigger guard. The two line patent dates are marked ahead of the triggers. Double triggers, cocking indicators, and tang mounted automatic safety. Nicely figured checkered forearm and straight grip stock with blank initial oval and factory checkered hard rubber buttplate. Length of pull 14 1/4 inches. Consignor notes state that this shotgun was made in 1904 for J.F. Durston who was president of Lefever from 1901 to 1915.

Condition: Very fine. The barrels retain 90% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina with some very scattered pin point pitting. The action retains 97% of the original pattern, with vivid casecolors strongest on the underside and towards the rear. The wood is fine with some minor dings and scratches (mostly on the buttstock) with a hairline crack near the right side plate.
