Included in this lot we have a pair of engraved kukri Gurka knife with sheaths. These blades have been carried by the Napalese Gurkha as both a very formidable weapon, as well as a decorative uniform piece, since as early as 1559. The first of the knives displays a traditional curved blade with a black horn grip with a lion pommel. The blade displays tooled designs and marked "India" toward the grip. The second piece shows a smaller version, with a curved blade, horn grip, and tooled designs on the blade. Both knives come with a curved black leather sheath and steel cap. The knives shows good condition overall with some light wear across the knives. The dagger measures 15 3/4" long with a 12" long blade with the smaller knife measures 9" long with a 6" long blade.
