Two white bead sight on the solid matte rib, both chokes gauge at over cylinder and 2 3/4 inch chambers with lengthened forcing cones and ejectors. The top of the right barrel is engraved "GRIFFIN & HOWE, INC." and the left barrel is engraved "NEW - YORK". The underside is engraved "MADE IN GERMANY" and is stamped "KRUPP -- LAUFSTAHL". The bottom flat has "crown/W" and "crown/U" proofs with the gauge marking "20" and chamber length "70mm". The left side of the receiver has deep relief engraving of three grouse in a wooded scene with the underside having floral scroll and rose bouquet and the right side has a dog and two quail in a wooded scene. There are oak leaf and acorn designs on the fences and there is a grouse on the trigger guard with a dog and 4 quail in flight on the lower tang. Mounted on a beautifully figured Circassian walnut forearm with multi-point checkering and ebony tip and a straight grip stock with ebony tear drops inlaid at the wrist, silver initial oval engraved "HB" and checkered butt with steel toe and heel plates. Length of pull is 13 1/2 inches.

Condition: Professionally refinished (barrels), the barrels retain 99% blue finish with a small ding on the rib and some minor muzzle wear. The trigger guard, lower tang, safety and break lever retain 90% original blue finish with some wear. The receiver retains strong traces of the original case colors with the balance a smooth gray patina. The wood is excellent with sharp checkering and only minor marks.
