This shotgun has beautifully executed floral scroll and game scene engraving on the receiver and side plates. The left side plate shows two pheasants and a fox. The right side plate shows a dog and two ducks. The original barrels are Damascus with silver inlaid bands at the breech, have "JOH. JAC. REEB" inlaid in silver on the left barrel, have "HOFBUCHSENMACHER BONN" inlaid in silver on the right barrel, have a single steel bead sight, are choked improved cylinder/improved cylinder, have 2 3/4 inch chambers with an extractor and are numbered to the gun on the bottom flat along with the initials "JJR". The extra barrels were added at a later date and have a beaded blade front sight, a flip up rear sight, "ANDR. AUG. HHL IN BONN A/RH." is silver inlaid on the rib, the right barrel is chambered for a 24 gauge shotgun and is rifled and the left barrel is chambered for 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge choked modified with an extractor. There is a set trigger for the rifle barrel. Mounted on a multi-point checkered walnut forearm with contrasting inlay at the tip and a pistol grip stock with horn trigger guard, horn grip cap, raised cheekpiece and hard rubber buttplate. With a custom hardwood case and 5 brass 12 gauge hulls.

Refinished (original barrels), the original barrels retain 75% of a high quality blue finish with a smooth gray/brown patina on the balance. Much of the Damascus pattern is visible. Some of the silver inlay is absent. The extra barrels retain 65% of the original blue finish with some areas of wear showing a gray patina. The coin finished components are relatively bright overall with an attractive aged patina. The stock set is good with smoothed checkering, scattered dents, scattered scratches and some chips absent from the edges of the forearm. Mechanically fine. Case is very good.
