Engraved German Over and Under Combination Gun
Produced in Suhl. Silver bead front and folding notch rear sight with silver triangle inlay. The top barrel has P.R. Wittener Steel markings on either side of the breech, Nitro proof on the left side, and a pair of claw bases added to the rib, cutting through the address. Border engraved breech, with deep scroll and checkerboard engraving on the frame, trigger guard and break lever, with a scene of two hunting dogs in the woods on the left side of the receiver and two deer and a duck in a lakeside scene on the reverse. Equipped with a tang safety, cocking indicator pins, and double trigger with single set front trigger. Checkered pistol grip stock, with Schnabel tip forearm, shadow line cheekpiece, attractive tiger stripe grain on the buttstock, sling swivels and a basket weave pattern horn buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4".

Condition: Fine as partially refinished, with 90% of the original blue finish on the barrels, showing a small amount of brown and gray patina at the muzzles, mild edge wear, and light handling marks overall. The frame shows traces of the original case colors, strongest in the protected areas and particularly vivid around the triggers, with a smooth gray patina on the remainder. Stock is fine as refinished, with some light pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
