"GOTTHILF V. NORDHEIM MEHLIS" inlaid in silver on the barrel rib. Martini action features a floral engraving incorporating male figures. Double set triggers, ramp front sight base only, and provisions for a peep sight. Straight grip stock features a dog head carved on forend (has glass eyes) and a deep relief carved hunter on the left side of buttstock, with dished cheekpiece, checkered wrist, and hook buttplate. Rear peep sight is absent.

Condition: Fair. The barrel retains over 95% of the blue finish with some minor thinning and some minor spotting. The remaining metal surfaces retain 30% of the case colors. The forearm is fair, missing large sections of wood on both sides. The stock is fine with some minor scratches and a few minor gouges. Mechanically needs work, as does the rest of this attractive Scheutzen. It is worthy of restoration!
