This Ballard No. 6 rifle has a custom George Schoyen heavy barrel equipped with two scope blocks with the front sight dovetail slot having a filler block. The top barrel flat is marked "GEO. C. SCHOYEN DENVER COLO". The scroll and game scene engraved receiver has the two line Marlin address/Ballard patent marking on the left side. It has a vernier peep sight without the eye disk, double set triggers and finger groove lever. Mounted with a smooth high comb stock with cheekpiece and Schuetzen style buttplate. The forearm has hardware for a palm rest (palm rest not included).

Condition: Fair. The barrel has a smooth plum patina with some minor spotting. The receiver, hammer and breechblock retain traces of original case colors in and around the protected areas. The buttplate retains 20% original blue finish with mild spotting. The wood is fair with a horizontally cracked buttstock (the full length) and a number of minor handling marks. Action needs work as hammer does not hold at a full cock position, custom rimfire extractor is broken, and the barrel has a liner, visible from the breech end of the barrel.
