Engraved Colt 2nd Generation Single Action Army Revolver, #51607SA, .45 Colt cal., 5.5'' barrel, blue and case hardened finish, with carved ivory grips. Mfg'd 1969. Revolver has been later engraved with all Montana brands, by noted engraver Michael Gouse, along with the Evans Ranch brand founded by Capt. Jack Evans, USMC, a WWII Corsair pilot; and the Hartless Ranch brand, founded by Pat Hartless, a Ranger and friend of Otto Stase, one of Poncho Villa's lieutenants. Ivory grips have been checkered in the style of the earliest Single Action hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt and American eagle designs. Coverage is approx. 85% and shows well. Blue and case components appear to be of factory quality. Condition is excellent showing only the lightest thinning to finish at muzzle. Revolver does show some minor evidence of firing. Grips show minor cracks to top edges. Action is excellent, bore shows light use. Est.: $3,000-$4,000. (C&R)
