English underlever exposed hammer combination cape gun by Webley & Scott of London with rare American agent’s marking C. Gove, Denver, Colo. engraved on rib. Engraved C. Gove & Co. on top portion of each lock plate. Serial #1064. The barrels are English blackpowder proofed, the right barrel listed as .44 2-1/4” Sharps caliber, left barrel is 12ga. The gun shows Gove modified rear sight which is of the Sharps style placed into therib of the barrel with a large blade American type front sight matching the rear sight. The stock is inlaid at the comb with a metal base for peep sight which is included, also a similar base is inlet into the comb at near1-1/2” at the buttplate. Both bases would accept the large screw-in peep sight. The barrels show a browned finish with Damascus pattern of which 30-50% remains. Some minor pitting, erosion, and normal aging. Theaction shows traces of case hardening drifting to silvery grey. There has been a set screw added to the rifle barrel trigger. The stocks are in good condition, normal aging and wear, dings, mars, scratches, etc.
