English flintlock India-pattern carbine dated 1810 with standing lion on lock, .65 caliber smoothbore, British proofed, brass mounts. The gun remains in good to very good condition showing strong traces of originalbrown in a dark patina. That is almost black on the lock and completely uncleaned. The stock shows a sharp cartouche on right buttstock area with the number “4”, a heart, and the initials “V” over “C” and “E I”,probably British East India company. The barrel and butt show registration numbers “DU-6518”. The metal surfaces are good with sharp markings. The stocks are good with many small dings, mars from military storage anduse, particularly on the left side, some scratches and gouges, but at least very good overall. The gun retains its original ramrod. Est: $750 - $1,500
