English Tranter style percussion revolver circa 1850-1860’s of pocket size with no mfg or agents name, British proofed with “No 1162” engraved on left side of frame. The revolver is contained within its original tothe period partition style English case. The pistol is approx. 36 cal with 3-7/8” octagon barrel rounded at the muzzle with ram rod on left side and approx 9-1/2” overall. The revolver is lightly scroll and borderengraved with checkered wood grips. The pistol retains approx 30-50% blue drifting to patina with scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting. The grips are very good, the action is working, thecylinder is not revolving. The case is lined in a purple velveteen and shows impressions from this revolver although case is made in such a way it would accept a 1-3/4 - 2” longer barrel (in our opinion this isoriginal as dealers would often sell shorter guns in a generic case that would fit more than one barrel length). The case contains a period flask, nipple wrench, rod, cap box and original compartment cover. Missing
