English Flintlock pistol by “Ketland” showing brass barrel and lock plate circa about 1800. The pistol measures 14-1/4” overall with 8-5/8” barrel with 60 cal smoothbore barrel. The pistol shows an acorn finial and flattened sides with no butt cap similar to Wogdon design. The metal surfaces are in good condition with dark patina and the hammer and frizzen show some minor pitting. The stock is very good with one gouge in thefore end, some minor marks. All correct small parts and correct style ram rod. The lock is signed in script “Ketland & Co.” with “London” in script on barrel and British proofs. A good quality pistol of the styleimported to the U.S. in the early Federal period. Est.;$900.-$1,800.
