English Flintlock blunderbuss with snap-bayonet and brass flared mouth cannon barrel signed “Rayley Maidenhead”. The gun measures 30” overall with 14” barrel, the barrel measures 1-3/4” across the center andbore is approx. 1-1/4”. The gun is in very good plus original condition showing case hardening on lock with some dirt and light beginning rust that would clean and mellow patina on sharp barrel. The stock is alsovery good plus with sharp checkering at wrist, some minor scratches and most of its varnish. A brass tip ram rod is included, the bayonet is released by a lever mounted on the tang and spring is snapping it outquickly. The lock retains its original small parts and the condition is exceptional needing just a light cleaning. From on old New York collector’s estate. Est.;$2,000-$4,000.
