Ellery Queen Ralph Bellamy Signed Lobby Card
One of the most beloved actors, whose career covered over six decades, was Ralph Bellamy. Starting as a matinee idol, so popular that when he played a star-crossed lover in "The Front Page", Cary Grant kept making fun of him in the movie by saying: "who do you think you are, Ralph Bellamy?" he continued through dozens of blockbusters, including his masterpiece of a performance as FDR in "Sunrise at Campobello, and continuing all the way to such classics as "Rosemary's Baby", and "Pretty Woman". In the early 1940's he also starred in a series of popular "Ellery Queen" movies. This is a Lobby Card from "Ellery Queen and the Murder Ring" (1941). He has signed it personally with a note: "To Sammy, from a sleepy-eyed detective- Ralph Bellamy". The "Sammy" was legendary songwriter Sammy Cahn who was collecting memorabilia for the Songwriter's Hall of Fame Museum. The full color original Lobby Card is in good condition and comes with a copy of Bellamy's letter to Sammy Cahn. The card has a slight tear on the upper left hand corner. Signed lobby card is 11"x14".
