Originally designed by and named for movie theatre executive, rancher, and RV regular, Dick Dickson. In the 1930s, the Dick Dickson, Miss Dickson and Dick Dickson Jr. became the most popular parade styles made by the Bohlin company for a quarter-of-a-century. The King of the Cowboys, Roy Rogers ordered his Dick Dickson Jr. model in 1940 and rode it on his beloved Trigger for most of his movie and TV career. A rose parade favorite, this black floral carved Dickson Jr. is built on a Miles City tree with 13” swells, 15” seat, 3 1/2” cantle and Bohlin’s trademark raised buffalo head on the silver horn. The regal 21” long tapaderos include every parader’s requisite engraved silver caps. Completely matching and adorned with heavy gauge sterling silver engraved diamonds and half-diamonds, this Dickson features the 1940 ornate upgrade Breast Collar, plus a fancier drop on the Bridle, and a black and white wool Corona. Made for J D Ferrell of Great Bend, Kansas – his name is engraved on the Bohlin seat plate, gold initials mounted on the back of the cantle and a silver F on each tapadero. The entire ensemble is in excellent, 100% original condition, c 1948-51
