Early to mid-19th century frontier skinning knife, measuring 10-1/2" overall, 6-1/2" blade made from thin trade steel or saw blade, showing worn-out horn gripscales secured by copper rivets that may have beenmade from antique cartridge cases. The knife has been interestingly repaired with pewter between the blade and horn which shows a dark patina. In our opinion, this is an Indian made and used knife that has been worn awayfrom use to the grip and would look great in a beaded scabbard. Est.: $300-$600
