Early to mid-17th-century European broadsword with marked blade showing 3 Kings which we have identified as the maker’s mark as Johannes Wundes of Soligen, Germany and showing a writhen pommel with well-matchedguard. The blade has been reduced to approximately 30 ½” and originally was 6” plus longer when made. The grip has been expertly rewrapped in correct style with fancy twisted wire. The metal surfaces showsome light to moderate pitting and all elements are 17th-century or earlier and are an old and attractive association. Est.: $2,000- $4,000.
