Early flintlock trade gun, barrel marked “London” with “WK” maker’s mark, brass mounts with scroll sideplate, simple tulips engraved on lock. The gun measures approx. 62” overall, barrel approx. 47”, of .60caliber smoothbore. Brass mounts are lightly engraved, gun shows British proofs and a stylized scroll sideplate. The stock shows a break and loss where approx. 12” of the forend was broken off and worn down in thatarea. Another break in the stock appears to have been wrapped at one time. The balance of the stock is good toher than some small losses around the stock. The metal surfaces show a dark brown patina with some scatteredlight brown pitting. There is a German silver teardrop around the front sight. We believe this to be an early trade gun. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
