Early U.S. Springfield Model 1873 trapdoor rifle, .45-70 cal., 32-1/2” barrel, blue finish, high arch breech, early rear sight, full length wood stock, iron cleaning rod, sling swivels, #3929 in overall good to very good condition showing a plum brown patina, good bore, crisp action, good markings and overall good wood with scattered mars, dings and scratches from carry and storage; “CO” stamped into right side of butt stock, “17” stamped twice on top of stock’s comb at steel butt plate; small “c” stamped in stock behind lower tang; no other visible proofs or inspector markings; a very early ’73.
