This example of a Colt 38 Super Auto was manufactured in 1929. The right side of the matching numbered slide is marked "COLT SUPER 38/AUTOMATIC" followed by the Rampant Colt motif and numbered "49/30" under the firing pin retainer. The left side of the slide has Colt's address above the 1897-1913 patent dates in two lines. The upper left front of the trigger guard bow is marked with a "1" over the triangle "VP" and the right side is marked "60". Features include standard fixed low profile sights, blue barrel with polished chamber, checkered slide release and thumb safety, checkered milled trigger, checkered wide hammer, arched main spring housing and checkered walnut grips without diamond patterns around the screw holes. This pistol is complete with an original two tone magazine marked "COLT SUPER/38 AUTO" on the bottom of the base. Included with the pistol is a plastic Douglas Industries egg crate foam lined case for storage.

Condition: Very fine with 90% original finish showing scattered light handling scratches and widely scattered minor spotting, with some small areas of minor pitting on the right side of the slide (touched up with cold blue) and crisp original markings. The grips are very good having some compression marks and minor wear with mostly sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
