This is a nice professionally restored example of a Colt Commercial government model semi-automatic pistol that was manufactured in 1922. This pistol exhibits the early markings and superb prewar Colt high polish blued finish and is complete with the renumbered Colt prewar maroon shipping box, instruction sheet/owners manual and cleaning brush. It has the early commercial Colt two line patent/address markings that ends in 1913 on the left side, with the Colt Rampant Horse behind the slide serrations, with the right side marked: "COLT/AUTOMATIC CALIBRE .45", with the Colt Rampant horse logo behind the markings. The matching serial number is located on the end of the slide under the firing pin stop. The frame is marked on the right side "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the serial number "C130512". The top of the frame has the single small letter Colt inspector's proof that is a small letter "O. The left side of the trigger guard bow is marked with the Colt triangle "VP" and "W" proof respectively. The barrel is a correct prewar model that has the all blued finish with the polished chamber area with the small Colt inspector number "5" on the underside in front of the lug area. As noted it has the early Colt features such as the early style checkered slide stop, the early type two checkered thumb safety the flat mainspring housing, short grip safety, and wide Colt hammer with the checkered spur . It is fitted with a set of checkered diamond pattern walnut grip panels, and one original Colt half-tone blue magazine. This pistol comes complete with the original, matching prewar Colt maroon shipping box that has the serial number lightly penciled on the underside of the box. The white paper end label for the lid reads: "GOVERNMENT MODEL" and the blue label for the lower box reads: "Colt Automatic Pistol .45/ Rimless, Smokeless". Included in the box is a reproduction of the original Colt 8 page, owners manual/instruction sheet and an original Colt cleaning brush.

Condition: Near mint as professionally restored with 99% of the prewar style Colt blued finish with only the slightest signs of high edge wear. The refinished grips are near mint with sharp and crisp checkering. The Colt maroon box, is also in near excellent condition with a couple of tears on the lid, all which have been professionally repaired or glued. The bottom of the box has had one number covered up by covering it with an ink rectangle. An excellent example of an early 1920's production 1911 pistol in the original box.
