Early Merwyn & Hulbert .44-40 caliber single-action frontier revolver, 7-1/2” barrel, nickel finish, pearl grips, serial #14343 on butt. The revolver shows early scooped flutes, open top, square butt, withlanyard. Approx. 60-80% original uncleaned or polished nickel finish remains. The nickel has lifted in several areas and a patina and pinprick pitting, some darkening is now occurring. The edges and markings are sharp,there are some nicks and scratches on forward edge of the barrel. The grips show a desirable luster and are very good plus with some small losses at the edges. The barrel and cylinder are numbered 4251, which it iscommon and proper on Merwyn & Hulberts not to match. The bore is very good plus. The action is slightly out of time and not locking perfectly.
