Early English Martial heavy Dragoon pattern flintlock pistol marked R. Watkin circa about 1720-1730 refer George Newman “Encyclopedia of The American Revolution” page 220, item number 1. The pistol shows a lightly cleaned gray metal surface with some scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting. The lock is well marked and all parts are original including the belt hook. The stock shows a break and old repair near the butt cap and losses of wood in this area. A brass tipped ramrod is included. The stock is good other than the aforementioned break and repair which should be re-repaired more professionally. A very rare and early British heavy Dragoon pistol which could’ve been used in both the French and Indian war and American Revolutionary war. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
