In 1913 William Stanley Jr. created the Stanley bottle as a result with transformers, during which he discovered that a welding process he was using could be used to insulate a vacuum bottle with steel instead of glass. He invented fused vacuum insulation and the strength of steel in one portable bottle. This completed picnic set includes two wine thermoses as the corks are included, a complete set of silverware to serve four people, four enamelware plates that are marked "Kockums, Sweden 18cm.", a salt and pepper shaker and a small metal icebox. Inside the icebox we see six compact cups. This complete set comes encased in a very good condition picnic case. This excellent piece shows wonderful condition and quality as Stanley products are built to last. The case measures 15" wide x 15" deep X 5" tall.
