Early Colt Model 1851 Navy percussion revolver with desirable squareback trigger guard, .36 cal., 7-1/2” octagon barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #2059 with old leather flap holster. This gun is in overall good condition showing a grey patina on metal surfaces with scattered areas of erosion and some scattered mars and old pitting; cylinder shows considerable original scene with #0280; action needs work,markings are good, bore is dark, wedge screw is a replacement; grips are from a later martial Navy and worn but overall good and have been with this gun for a long time showing an inspector’s cartouche on the right grip; there is also period initials on the butt strap “E.B.”; holster is well-worn with old string repair to the bottom stitched area; some losses and separation, etc. A difficult-to-find in any condition variationof the famous Colt ’51 Navy revolver; from an old collection.
