Early 1900s Montana Photos & Document Ephemera
For your consideration is this Montana ephemera collection including photos, a bank check and business card and basketball programs. The bank check and business card are from the Mildred State Bank in Mildred, Montana. The business card is from E. P. Older, the president of Mildred State Bank at the time. The two basketball programs are from the 1939 Class B High School Basketball Tournament in Glasgow, Montana. The programs shows the teams and list their coaches and players for the tournament. The first photo shows the Montana Sheriffs' And Peace Officers' Association in Dillon, Montana circa 1920-30s. It shows two men holding a large key over a small man in a police uniform. The second photo was taken in 1912 and features the Livingston Fire Department in Livingston, Montana. It shows a horse drawn fire engine with a man sitting in the drivers seat holding the reins. On the side of the engine it reads, "L.F.D." for Livingston Fire Department. The third photo shows the first train in Twin Bridges, Montana in 1897 and was photocopied by Thos. B. Brook in Twin Bridges, Montana in 1951. The photo shows men and women standing on the front car of the train posing for the photo. The final photo is a photo copy of a photo in Electric, Montana from the early 1900s. The photo shows towns people walking along the dirt roads next to some businesses, with one notable one being Schlitz Beer. In the bottom right in white lettering it reads, "Electric - Mont.". The ephemera in this lot shows good condition overall with some wear to each item consistent with its vintage age. One photo exhibits tears and creases. The largest item measures 8 1/2" L x 11" W while the smallest measures 2" L x 3 1/2" W.
