Early 18th century Flintlock Horseman's size pistol of central European mfg. with iron mounts, pierced side plate, banana shaped lock and approx. 21" overall with 13-1/2" barrel of 69 caliber. The metal surfacesshow a dark brown patina finish and the pistol is in its original configuration with proper hammer and small parts. The stock shows a break and repair at the wrist, some losses around pin holes and would be rated at fair to good with need of slight restoration. The pistol retains a period ramrod, the side plate is nicely pierced and chiseled and the butt plate and trigger guard show good work. Circa about 1725 this isthe type imported to Colonial American and used by early settlers. Est.;$1,250-$2,500.
