This is an original Earl E. Heikka (1910-1941) bronze sculpture. The piece is titled "Pasture Bull" and depicts a American Bison laying in a pasture looking out with incredibly fine detail. Heikka was a Great Falls, Montana artist and is considered a contemporary of Charles M. Russell. Born in 1910, he gathered the attention of prominent figures and did commissions for Marshall Field, Gary Cooper, and Con Kelley. His works were featured in an exhibition in Los Angeles in 1931 and the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. Tragically, Heikka took his own life in 1941, thus ending a talented career. This bronze is in very good condition. It has been signed "E. Heikka" and is numbered 85/110. A truly fantastic piece of Montana art history from from the talents of Earl Erik Heikka. The piece measures 9" L x 5 3/4" H x 5 7/8" D
