EXTREMELY INTRIGUING NICKEL PLATED COLT WOODSMAN
MATCH TARGET SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL SHIPPED TO REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY WITH FACTORY LETTER. Cal. 22 LR. S# 72025-S. Bbl 4 1/2". Woodsman Match Target manufactured by Colt in 1950. The left side of the barrel is stamped with Colt's address and patent information followed by the Rampant Colt logo above "MATCH TARGET", with "COLT" followed by stampings stipulating the caliber designation on the left side of the slide. Metal components exhibit a dual-tone nickel finish, with the frame being mounted with 2 piece checkered Colt brown plastic thumbrest grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory letter listing the finish as blue, and indicating that this example was 1 of 2 Woodsman Match Target pistols shipped to Remington Arms Company on February 23rd, 1950. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their nickel plated finish, exhibiting some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. Right side of barrel shows a small area of mild discoloration. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few minor handling marks, but are otherwise fine.
