EVE-83 INSIDE REVERSE PAINTED FLASKMagnificent inside reverse painted flask on shell with silver mounts from the 18th century. Shows William Tell scene of father with crossbow and son with an apple on his head along with noble and knights in armor.Measures 5 ½” x 3 3/8” across. Fine other than one crack. The artwork is fully intact. Obtained by Eric Vaule from Ruth Blumka who was a famous early collector in New York City. The flask that appealed to Eric themost as to superb artwork. The spout is thin and small and some have argued a sand flask. Eric believed it to be a priming flask for triple F fine powder filled by funnel and a sand flask would not have an armorial scene. An irrelevant argument as it is a work of art. The estate of Eric Vaule. Est.: $5,000-$10,000Magnificent inside reverse painted flask on shell with silver mounts from the 18th century.
